Experiment 1 - To estimate the salinity of water samples by
Mohr's titration method
Materials Required Burette with stand,pipette,conical flask,measuring cyclinder
Reagents Required 0.02N Silver nitrate Solotion,Potassium chromate indicator
Procedure Take the Burette washed with tap water and rinsed with 0.02N Silber nitrate solution and take silver nitrate solution. Take 10 ml of water sample using measuring cylinder and add few drops of Potassium chromate indicator. Yellow color is appear.This solution is titrate against silver nitrate solution.A permanent brick red color is appeared which is the end point.Repeat the titration until to get concordent values
